All data on RiskByCounty.com is provided for informational purposes only. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data presented. The NRI score (0–100 relative scale) is a relative source measure and is presented as a descriptive county record rather than an absolute measure of future outcomes.

Data Sources

Current displayed county risk fields are sourced from FEMA NRI v1.20, released December 2025. RiskByCounty displays five selected hazard categories out of FEMA's 18. Flood is the higher of FEMA Coastal Flooding and Inland Flooding NRI scores. This site is not affiliated with FEMA, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, or any government agency.

RiskByCounty calculates state and national summaries as unweighted arithmetic means across reporting counties with available county NRI scores. Those derived summaries are not FEMA state scores or ratings and do not represent resident prevalence. FEMA remains the source for the underlying county fields; RiskByCounty is responsible for the stated display and summary rules.

Intellectual Property

All original content, visualizations, and methodology descriptions on RiskByCounty.com are the property of the ByCounty Network. Government data is used under public-domain or open-license terms as specified by each source agency. You may share links and brief excerpts with attribution; republication of full datasets or methodology documents requires written permission.

User Conduct

You agree to use this site for lawful purposes only. Automated scraping, bulk downloading, or attempts to interfere with site infrastructure are prohibited. We reserve the right to block access for violations.

Limitation of Liability

RiskByCounty and the ByCounty Network shall not be liable for any damages arising from the use or reliance on data presented on this site. All data is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
